Conservation Practices Program
(CPP)
 The Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District is
now accepting applications for cost-share assistance through the
Conservation Practices Program.  This program assists
landowners and producers reduce soil erosion and improve water
quality by providing cost-share assistance to install conservation
practices.  Cultural and mechanical practices are cost-shared at a
flat rate and/or 60% of the total cost of the practice.

  Cutural practices include contour farming, contour strip
cropping, contour buffer strips, field border strips, strip till
planting system, pasture hayland seedings and cover or green
manure crops.

  Mechanical practices include grass waterways, critical area
seeding, grade stabilization structures, diversions, terraces and
water and sediment control basins.
